How much does it cost to travel by motorbike?
Most of us are constrained in some way, with time and money forming the boundaries that shape what’s possible.
Working within those limits, there are two main approaches I’m familiar with for undertaking motorcycle trips on a restricted basis:
- Shipping – where the bike is transported to your destination, you fly out to meet it, then either ride it home or ship it back.
- Storage – where you ride the bike out, store it for weeks or months at a time, and continue the journey in stages.
Two trips are outlined below: one in 2025, which involved shipping to Greece and riding home, and one in 2026, currently in progress, which involves riding out and using bike storage. There are advantages to either, it all depends on your goals and availability of shipping agents.
