Race to Dakar: Almeria
Landed in Alermia at 10:20am this morning and will rendezvous with the rest of the team a little later. We've booked an overnight ferry to North Morocco, i think it departs at midnight and docks at 6am tomorrow. That gives me a little time to mooch about, soak up a Cerveza and some Tapas.
The cathedral looks more like an Egyptian tomb.
Typical Spanish market, more ham than Pepper Pigs house.
A ball at the end result of a pole
The Rally organisation published the length of each stage today.... some big distances to cover!o Tomorrow is just a matter of getting to the scrutineering and passing technical and documentation checks, in Mahirija, some 176KM from the port. The day after, however, is 516km in the saddle!
A little later in the day the team arrived, including a chap called Peter, who had ridden from Denmark and decided to come with us. (BMW in the photo below)
We made it onto the ferry after a fair amount of chaotic hassle and, once onboard, were directed to the bar where had to spend the night. Luxurious compared to some of the nights ahead no doubt.
And so it was, with snoring men, crying children and coughing old ladies, we bid farewell to Europe.
