Destination Dakar: Zagora.

Shattered, but an amazing day. Approx 300KM from Merzouga to Zagora following the Chris Scott Route 'MS6' (from the Book 'Morocco Overland')

It has everything, piste, dunes and a new one this trip, salt flats.  Barrie and I got stopped twice by the Army. They were really friendly and Barrie even gave them cake bars!  Seemed to sweeten the deal 😉

Sunrise in Merzouga over the dunes.

Salt flats near the Algerian border.

Nicolas looking amazing,.just before he fell off in the fesh fesh.

Alan just after he summersaulted over the bars and dropped the bike on me. Great sand shot though!

Nicolas finding shade in the dunes.

Barrie attempting a KTM catalogue shot.

Off road forever.

Helping two stranded locals with fuel. I'm glad to help the people after all the help they gave me last year. Glad I had the extra 2 litres.

Another Barrie Camel shot.

Our home for the night is Soliel Du Monde in Zagora. Loads of space to park, but.almost impossible to get the trailer into without taking chunks out of walls. It took nine locals to help us move and lift the trailer into position.

The following trailer shots are from the next morning, but fit better here.

Below you see Andy on the left stood on the trailer. He doesn't look that fit, but the man is hard as coffin nails.  Everyday getting it done and aiding other riders. Top bloke.

Great hosts, they couldn't do enough and catered for our every whim. Lovely place to stay.

Below, Nicolas doing the french model pose and Irish Pete, astrophysicist and Support Driver. He order 40 beers after this photo was taken. No joke.

Below, left to right, Irish Pete,  in the middle it French Thierry, a very hardy man and experienced bike traveler. He needed to be hardy as his bike broken-down nearly every  day.  It was total a bag rusty nails, time for an upgrade I think.

...and finally little 'itinerary' Jacob from Denmark.  What Jacob lacks in height he make up for in personality. A gentle, genuine and funny person, likes to have a plan and stick to an agreement. Good traits when you're stuck in the middle of nowhere and depend upon each other.
