IoM Day 2

I don't think I've ever eaten as much cake. Whilst England had record temperatures we were wet as an Otters pocket in IoM, and each shower brought about an impromptu stop at a cafe.

Explored the north of the island today. The Motorsport heritage is visible everywhere, from signs, road markings, bridges, museums and fanatics, like the vintage car races below.

If your religion is petrol head, this place is Mecca. We're loving it here.

Below, the Manx TT winners podium. (Sarah has clearly won the Man Lottery)

We split up today, not as in dumped, 😜   but so that red bike rider didn't have to attempt the off-road sections. Yesterdays memories clearly still haunting her.

Above, the Point or Ayre. Northernmost point of IoM. (Just after a cake stop)

On the way north we briefly visited the IoM motorsport museum. The women at reception welcomed us as you would Herpes so we ended up at the Guard House Coffee shop. (Warming and jovial, and lots of sweet cake)

Most notably difficult off road route today was the Millennium Way. Thankfully I approached it from the north and just had to descend.  Three other chaps on trials bikes were doing the same. I suspect they thought I was little out of my depth on a bigger bike, but I got it done without issue.

There are three main routes to the north, a coast road on either side and the A14 through the middle to Soulby.  The pics above and below are from that route.

Our destination this evening is the capital, Douglas. We're staying at Raymond's B&B, which is outstanding, the hosts are nice as pie, but neither is called Raymond.

Douglas by night after the Irish bar 🍻..but before a kebab 🍢.
