Huddersfield 40

The local butcher in Cross Gates, Leeds, John Green, is a biker and Enduro fan. He kindly gave us a route through Huddersfield that promised 40miles with no gates?!  Sounded to good to be true.

He was right though. No gates at all and it's not on the TET so made a nice change from our normal routes.

Above, Sarah trying the DR for size.  If her laughter was anything to go by I understand she enjoyed the extra torque.

There's a couple of places along the route which are Enduro playgrounds, and others, like the reservoir, which are quiet and unspoiled. On this day there was a sponsored run we rode passed.  Many of the competitors were either chewing wasps or, potentially, objected to our passing.   I always give a cheery smile and a hello, I think they liked me.

Sarah posing outside the 'no such thing' as the locals call it. 😂

The route home was less than idyllic. The heavens opened and a downpour of Noah proportions fell upon us.  Gave me the opportunity to test the new waterproofs, which worked well. Sarah's less so. Drowned cat.

Great day
