Testing in the Dales.

There’s something about hitting that half-century mark that feels meaningful, like a personal checkpoint to reflect on where you’ve been and where you’re headed.  This year I'm 50 and I'm heading out.  I intend to celebrate life travelling with friends and family and loved ones. 

Just returned from Skiing and the following weekend, Sarah and I were testing our equipment for the Gateway trip.  Istanbul - The Gateway between Europe and Asia, but that's a few months and much planning away. 

For now, we're closer to home in the Yorkshire Dales at Sleningford Watermill, a riverbank camp. We're assessing the new tent, kitchen and kit.  Did get a little chilly in my lightweight 'sleeping system' (as the pros call it).  The bag on the back of the Tenere below, is a double duvet, an emergency purchase from the middle of lidl.
