Spanish TET Day 6

Chica Bonita.

I learned my lesson when the luggage I'm carrying broke the bike. I have too much stuff. Now I'm going to take a lesson from Jason and put my luggage on a diet.
All this plus a can of oil, a pillow, gas canister and some clothes are being binned.

When the stuff you carry impedes your progress and harms what you actually need or want (my steed in this case) you quickly understand what can go.

We were up and out early for our biggest off-road day.  The TET runs west from Tremp and is off-road immediately, i was glad i'd lightened the load.  Weather was great, views stunning.

The trails were great ranging from smooth and flat (Jason's favourite - 'Off-road Light' he coined it) to steep and rocky or muddy (my favourite)  Miles from anywhere one section the pass was blocked from a rock slide,  there was no way a car could make it passed, but the bikes were fine. Well mostly fine, panting like dogs and sweating like pigs we man handled the WRR around the cliff side.

You see loads of old small settlements perched high in the mountains.  Many are now deserted, the threat that made the people go the gargantuan effort now passed and forgotten, lost to time.

We'd been riding for about 5hrs and it was easily one of the best days, but my petrol was low and our belly's grumbling so we started hunting for fuel and food. Many of the villages have no amenities in them, we went to three and found a bar serving food in one at Tierrantona, but the petrol station had closed down.

It was over the late lunch we made plans for the evening and decided to head Jacca which is a larger town with an old Citadel in the middle.  There was plenty to see and do, including a spot of shopping for fresh clothes.

Everybody loves Horno.

We ended up in an Irish bar soaking up the Spanish culture with the finest Spanish barmaid we'd seen. Chica Bonita!  I'll pop back at some point and whisk her away to get married.

Its the following morning now, my head is a little hazy and its time to hit the road.
