Brown Pants Day.
Day One; Practice Session.
My heart pounding in my chest and my clothes soaked with sweat i completed my final lap of practice. Crikey, that is not for the faint of heart!
I'd arrived in good time, met Sonya Jarvis and kitted up. The marshal on the start gate said that i should be accompanied for a 'sighting' lap, but the other chap was busy and that id be 'OK' and 'just go steady'. Giving it the billy big bollocks i agreed and set off, totally pooping my pants in the privacy of my helmet.
The going was difficult, and the laps got steadily harder as it rained and other bikes chewed up the ground. On my first steep decent into the river bed the nearby spectators heard a big a guy on a big bike squeal in a high pitched voice, 'oh my god, oh my god'!
I fell off a couple of time during the day and and the outside of my pants got brown too.
I only took one photo, below, for a girl ive been talking to on Tinder, she likes bikes (...and dirty Enduro men hopefully. :) ) The guy in the van in the background is hanging out smiling because i told him that snippet and he wants to meet her. haha

DayTwo; The Race.
Blue 2-stroke smoke hung low in the air as two hundred riders on the starting grid revved their bikes engines, the steward had just raised the 'WARM YOUR ENGINES' sign.
Tony 'likes to Enduro', Chris 'Likes to Wheelie' and 'Six Bikes' Rich were all present. I'm glad the boys were there, they'd all helped or given some advice and the camaraderie was warming on this cold day. Rich was last to impart his wisdom and it stuck with me for the full race; 'Ride your own race'. We shook hands and went to our bikes.
Sitting there on the line i felt a strange sense of calm, i was going to do as Rich had advised and had nothing to prove. Chris later imparted that at that same point he had a moment of nerves listening to the highly strung two strokes rev-up.
Tony on the other hand totally lived up to his name, a name that doesnt exist outside of this blog btw (yet), but the man was an Enduro machine. He set off, skipped off and lapped everyone. I think he managed eight laps to my four. It was really difficult, total carnage and i was knackered by the end.
A great experience.
Look at the new Coops steed, totally covered in cack.
