Moroccan Sahara 1
I dropped Sarah's and my bike off for shipping this week. The trusty DR650 and CRF300 are going on holiday to Greece to begin the Gateway trip. Must admit, the thought of nudging the Asian boundary on a bike really excites me.
Next week is different though, I'm meeting up with my old travelling buddy Jason, and we're heading back Morocco. (Along with Damo, who accompanied us last year on the Italian / French alps trip)
Bikes have been rented from Tenere Riders in Marrakesh and were heading to the Sahara region. The rough plan is to see the Dades Gorge, Erg Chebbi, Erg Chegga, Merzouga, Zagora and other towns and Arabic stays along the way. The route uses rally sections from the Old Dakar and sections from the recently published Morocco Tet, pioneered by chris Scott! (Who's book i used to plan our first trip)
Light weight packing is in full swing as my entire bag needs to fit into hand luggage.
I'll also be wearing by kit to travel in - I'm too tight to pay for additional airplane baggage.
