Moroccan Sahara 2 Atlas

view from the hotel in the Dades Gorge

We arrived in Marrakeah to a hastily booked airbnb (met by the owner and baby for key exchange) and promptly found the Chesterfield Pub ( Chesterfield being the town we all worked together in)

One beer, some passive smoking and a thai meal later, we're back at the temporary two bedroom home and i settled onto the sofa. Unfortunstely the sofa sloped towards the floor and i settled in for a restless nights sleep. Pleaseingly, some druken locals attempted to gain entry to the flat at 3.35am - until they relised they lived next door.

9.30 the next morning we're at Tenere Riders picking up the bikes. A Himalyan 411, Himlayan 450 and CFMoto 450mt. These chaps are great , I'd recommend them.

200miles to cover today, passing over the Atlas ( was cold) heading to the Dades Gorge, renound for it good riding and scenic views ( baking hot).

We were Planning for two breaks, but i elongated a fuel stop when i deftly pumped 6litres diesel into the CFmoto 450 tank. I didnt relise until the fuel attendant appeared next to me, pointing at the pump name (ffs!!)

Thankfully I'd brought a siphon tube and prompltly set about rinsing my mouth with the foul tasting explosive.

Its good riding here and the intercom crackeled with chat about the bikes and other  obscurities and the miles passed easily. The CFmoto running well on derv.

Arriving at the Dades Gorge we headed to the first hotel I'd tagged. The owner was less than polite so we left him in a cloud of diesel smoke. Another 4 or so hotel visits and enquiries later and we finally found one that served beer and was really popular with tourists and bikers,, Dar Essyaha. Another recommendation.

They only had one room available (inc dinner and breakfast) that we packed into like the waltons or three dwarves, good to split room three ways though. Cosy.

Damo drank a gallon of beer and filled a bin with tins. Dry country.
