French Alps - Day 5

Destination Avignon.

200 miles off-road and wet, that pretty much summarises the day.

First stop on the road at Banon. A picture perfect little village sitting pretty atop a hill.
In stereotypical French style, they had a cheese festival planned.

Looking like a ragdoll steering a bear.  A small dog attempting to pull the arms off the owner entertained whilst we ate breakfast.

The mountains gave way to hills and the switch backs became curvy roads. We made swift progress.

Below, taking a wrong turn that nearly had us taking dirt naps on the slick rock.

Our final destination was Avignon. We got lost in the center, pitched up in the rain under a tree and searched for a hotel with parking.

Hotel d' angleterre became our home this evening, the Irish bar our local haunt and a Vietnamese restaurant filled the belly.
