Day 1 1000miles

Italy at last!! 11hrs into the Surf Bus journey and we have covered about 700miles.  ...just another 300 to go to get last year's finish point.

We've not been idle during this time, and between snoozes, we've learnt the following from factual and informative web sites.

  1. Slovenian woman are beautiful.
  2. Men have to be sporty, manly and active.
3. There are 'house clothes' in Slovenian culture. (Is it that dirty outside?)
4. They like coffee and women will spend upwards of four hours gossiping widely over a strong brew.
5. There's a vineyard to every 70 people, which explains the indoor clothes as they were probably sick on their outdoor clothes.

Sorted ! Culture absorbed and understood, I'm ready.

Totally knackered,  but in high spirits we finally reached our destination.   Farm stay 'Maso Carpene', in the hills above Rovereto at 10pm.  David, the Farm owner met us, showed us our rooms , opened the restaurant and very generously gave the weary travellers, bread ham, cheese and beer! Top bloke!!

....into the night we discussed all the light topics; Brexit, Climate change, plastics in the ocean and finished on existential risks to humanity...you've got to love that 46% Scottish Whisky for keeping the conversation flowing.
