Day 5 Getting it done.

In the words of Adam Reimann from his Motology films, today 'we were getting it done'   and we'd planned to complete the Slovenian TET.

As we had become accustomed to, the TET was mile after mile of wide forest trails that form the actual road network in this part of the world.

Managed to catch a snap of the mobile bee hives and the bee keeper.

The bikes were going well, the country side was beautiful, the weather warm, and like children at Disney, we were in our element.

Lunch time coincided with a fortuitous waypoint on the map called Lake Bloke.  It's a glamping retreat tucked away in the forests in the banks of a lake. I mused that the name is slightly at odds with camps intent.

We stopped, rested, ate and enjoyed the scenery, part of it being the rather lovely waitress. Loving Slovenia.

Refuelled on schnitzel (lots of Germans here) we hit the trails again and spent the time blasting through the forest, kicking dirt up, stepping the back end out in corners  and other general hoonery.

The pic below is of a small river crossing,  we both passed through it a few times and captured some GoPro footage. On my last attempt, and much to the delight of Jason, I ended up in the bush. What does a friend do in these troubled moments? Help? No, he took photos.

Nearing the end and only 6 miles from Croatia the TET deviates into the actual forest on tiny single track paths. We got lost a few times, but it granted the opportunity to really test the bikes off piste.  I distinctly remember some muttered curse's from my companion.

Finally, 170km after setting off that morning, we reached Croatia. An extremely interesting photo of a barbed wire fence follows...

100km schlep back to the surf bus and we headed for the capital, Ljubljana.

Ljubljana is an old Roman city and the centre of it is beautiful.  We ate street food and found a bar to pitch up at.  The hours passed watching the local  fauna in all its glorious eastern European lovelyjubbleyness.

Padlocks on a love bridge.

Ljubljana is worth the visit.

A great day.
