The Great North Loop
A trip for saddo lock-down loving loners...
1068KM, four national parks and the remainder of the Northern TET. I intend to wild camp for a few nights and use a camp site, if possible, to shower midway through and i'm really looking forward to it. Or as Jason put it, 'no tinder signal, sunshine, mountains, or mates, but at least the ambulance can find you' Always the charmer.
The KTM 500 is almost prepped (missing two foot peg springs and a split pin), but one thing is troubling me, its still shod in the Rally Mousses and i wonder how they will cope. Would be great to not carry spare tubes, time will tell i guess...
With the bike and route sorted my mind turned to the camping kit. There's just no hiding from it, its massive and heavy and my sleeping bag is the size of an inflated bin bag and about as warming, so that's replaced..buy cheap, buy twice... Tent at some point.
Lastly, is there any point in carrying a stove and pan, utensils, cup, food and coffee, cleaning stuffs etc when you can purchase hot food and drink in the day? I'm thinking not, go light, go far.
In other news; a pic of my daughter this evening, a chip off the old bock. Afterwards she said 'I'm going to ride around the world with you Dad' Bless her.
