Sarah's TET Cherry, Day 2

If yesterday was bucket list, then today was green laning dreams. Like a duck to water, Sarah took the gnarly start of the lane in her stride. Mountain biking skills are definitely transferable to off-road motorbiking!

After a decent breakfast at the aging, quirky and possibly haunted, hotel we set of towards the forest of bowland. So long Burnley, catch you never again.

..and on to our first gate opening of the day. Although this one is a little more special than most, it's her first! Ahhh... Sweet memories.

I imagine on a stormy day with sideways rain it would be bleak out here, but not on this day. I hope the pictures do justice to the magnificent unpaved road that lazy carves it way over the wild landscape.

We stopped for lunch at Ingleton and suffered a touristy overpriced cheese toasty for a bargain price of £17.  Whilst enjoying that delight, a group of bikers parked nearby and laughed at the size of the Africa Twin Adventure Elephant. I guess It's not easy being midgets.

The viaduct dominates the Ingleton landscape and stands tall as homage to Victorian ingenuity. It's a shame the cheese toasty cost as much as the viaduct did.

After lunch the intercom buzzed with fear as Sarah flirted with the local fauna.  I quite liked that lane was so narrow a 4x4 could not traverse it, it does keep the land in better shape.

Making much better time than I had anticipated we completed the loop on the first day.  With the afternoon at our disposal, meandering along the TET into Yorkshire, we decided to stay in  Skipton.

I'd only ever passed through Skipton and never experienced the delights the town has to offer.

I drank deeply this evening...
