French TET23 Day4

Like a game of football, today had to distinct halves. The first half I'll refer to as the aftermath.  The aftermath of Grimbergen and andouillette.  Even when I managed to raise Sarah from bed she could not stand upright. Like one of those rain forest whooping monkeys her heaving noises reverberated through the hotel reception from the loo.

Jasons shoulder still paining him, he spent the morning searching for medical aid. When we next saw him he floated over to us on an opium magic carpet.

The afternoon started bright and hot and we got thr journey underway. We followed a river and the overgrown track next to it.

It turned into more of an enduro trail...

Our final destination tonight was Brantome in the Dordogne.  A small medieval town surround by a moat like river. We picked an easy flowing route and meandered our way through the afternoon heat.

The town is most famous for its Benedictine Abbey built by Charlemagne in 769.

BJ Bio Joil?!

Behind the abbey are caves that were previously inhabited by monks.

The whole town is exceptionally picturesque and proved a great place to recuperate after  misadventure in Poitiers
