French TET23 Day5
Whilst we sat having lunch we heard the first thunder. It had already been a wet morning and just moments ago we'd peeled ourselves out of the wet kit like three damp bananas. Lunch was served at small cafe bathed in sunlight, so the thunder was an unwelcome dining companion.
Below, Bourge Cathedral.
After lunch we parted company with Jason who was making strides north. Who could blame him, he had an imporant date to make with his little princess and had had his fill of Sarahs intercom banter.
Boy oh boy did it rain in the afternoon. Sarah had checked the weather reports and apparently it was 30degrees and bright sunshine 100miles north. It didn't seem possible from our sad position, but we were not enjoying our new lives as fish. So north we went.
Bourge was our final destination, but we passed through Le Chatre, in the baking heat! Whilst shedding the layers in the town square an old couple approached, taking interest in our journey, viewed from the local Irish bar.
They offered us free board and lodgings, we didn't accept on this occasion, though they were very sweet.
Above, Bourge streets.
Bourge was everything we'd hoped for. Ancient, beautiful, lively and most importantly dry as the desert and hot as hell! We managed to score an entire apartment with private parking to call home this eve.
We befriended some local lads who were trying to bend over and touch the floor in bar. It was an easy in for Sarah. 😉
They offered good chat and tips for tomorrow's journey. Great place. Good times.
