Austria

Hallstatt medieval town.  It was rammed with tourists blocking the road with cars. I quickly parked the bike on the pavement and grabbed a quick snap from the lake.  An official told me to move on within three minutes of stopping.

From the moment you cross the border everything changes. Its a stark contrast to Hungary.

The farmland immediately gives way to mountains. Almost like the Austrians ringed the mountains on a map and said these are ours, you can have the rest.

Above, a pristine tarmac freedom ribbon willing you on.

Above, a mountain town where I stopped for coffee.  The waiter, resplendent in lederhosen, attempted to keep my change. Clearly, he'd never met man from Yorkshire.  He has now

A few snaps from Salzburg, home of Mozart.

Such is the condition of the old city, that's it's easy to imagine the great composer roaming the streets taking inspiration.

Salzburg, and Austria in general has been incredible. My neck is sore from turning my head to look at the scenery!
