Route Planning
With 34,000km where do you start?
Its still not 100% decided, but thoughts have evolved from riding through the chunnel and following the French TET south (then turning back at some point) to finding a shipping company and joining the bikes at a certain destination. This latter idea would make the most of the short time we have for this first trip. Saves rattling my bones to pieces on a lengthy road trip on an off road bike too!
South France TET looks interesting around the alps. Though i've ridden over the alps with Ken and Paul many years ago on road bikes.
When examining the Northern Spain section of TET the Pyrenees looks like a great mix between off road (mostly) and on-road through small villages. Being mountainous its sure to be interesting too and i do like Spanish culture. Cervasa, Tapas, Fiesta, Siesta!
We've also decided to do a 'shakedown' weekend in Wales to test the bikes once they are prepped.
Looking at the maps and discussing with friends makes it seem like its really happening. Finding the right shipping company will cement the plans...
