I've eagerly and jealously read the two wheeled adventures of people traversing the USA on the Trans America Trail (TAT) and wanted to do it myself. However I live in England, so its not exactly accessible. Thus i was pretty excited last year when one of my adventurous friends, Jason, sent me this link;

The possibility of a 34,000km off road adventure in my own my back garden! Wow! Wanderlust struck and thoughts of travelling the furthest reaches Europe on an adventure bike filled my mind. I was going! I was going to ride to the arctic circle and 'pop' into the offices of the company I work for in the Nordics, I was going ride through France, stopping for wine, and over to Spain to visit my mother in the sunny med... and on it went.
Then reality struck; i'm middle aged, mortgaged, have a job and a sweet little girl, oh and no adventure bike.
So I've set this blog up to chart (read: help me remember) what I _will_ do with resources I do have at my disposal.
